Could this be the last race?... 2008 is the 20th year I have organised this event. Over this time entries have increased from just over one hundred to four hundred and, despite the low entry fee, we have been able to donate significant sums to local charities. From the feedback I receive, I know many of you have enjoyed taking part and I have enjoyed making this possible. But now I am 'jaded' and would like to hand the event over for others to take forward. This could be an existing running club, charitable organisation or a group of interested individuals joining together just for this event. I am even prepared continue with all 'pre race' administration, the website and would provide advice and support but I would like 'others' to take full responsibility for everything 'on-the-day'. This would enable me to jog round and enjoy or endure what others have enjoyed for 20 years. Interested? email me at:  info@horndon10k.co.uk

I would like to thank all friends and family who have volunteered (or been press ganged) to help over the years, in particular I would like to thank members of Thurrock Nomads Running Club who have given up the chance to run to help on the day.

The 10k road race takes place during the annual 'Feast and Fayre' in the historic village of Horndon-on-the-Hill. Whether you are a 'Serious Athlete', Jogger or Fun Runner this is the event for you. Make it a day out and bring your family and friends along for the Craft and Charity stalls, All day Street Entertainment, Plenty of Food and two of the best Inns in the County.
